Abstract Crap.

My girl friend calls me a scientist. NO not because of my intelligence; but because my hair are growing from behind and receding from the front.

My office colleague asked me, Manish all this is a joke for you isn’t it. And I said YES.
She meant ‘the office’, I meant ‘LIFE’.

Things I do not Understand.

Sikhs keeping long hair just coz their father tell em 2. And they say they are unorthodox religion unlike Hinduism.
FOR ME: Enlightenment means freedom of soul, freedom of mind.

How come rescue of ‘Prince is somehow as important or perhaps more important than say something like ‘Indian Space disaster’.

Hogging 50 hours of prime time television is an insult and outrage to viewers, but as they say People get what they deserve.
Send SMS for the well being of prince the living legend, ‘fucked up, melodramatic saas bahu news channels’

Why did i cry on the shoulders of a person who was making me cry!! No sympathy please that was long long time ago.

How come 90% of the prayers are in the language we don’t understand?

Paradox of Democracy
How come India being the largest democracy of the world has hierarchy of Nehru, Indira, Rajeev, Sonia (all the power minus the seat) and now Rahul at the helm of operations ruling the roost?
And strangely enuf all the other charismatic and efficient congress leaders like rajesh pilot, madhav rao scindia etc cannot even keep their planes and helicopters afloat

Kasauli Travelogue

KASAULI TRIP
How to reach kasauli

After gauging all the three modes of transport Road, rail and air, I concluded that the best way to reach kasauli is by Rail. The nearest railway station is Kalka.

03 odd trains go to Kalka from Delhi, out of which the best one is Kalka Shatabdi, One can book the tickets online from railways website. http://www.irctc.co.in/

Train leaves New Delhi railway station at 7:40 AM. Journey is very comfortable with reclining seats, A.C, newspaper and breakfast.

Train covers the distance of 301 Kms in around 4 and a half hour, schedule time of arrival is 12:00 PM.

Kausali is 35 Kms from Kalka and the only feasible way to reach is by hiring a taxi. Unless you are on a shoe string budget, try and avoid the hassles of a bus.

Taxi would charge approximately Rs.20/Km which would come to around Rs 700-800 depending where exactly your hotel is.

Where to Stay.

HPTDC runs a Beautiful colonial bungalow property by the name of Ros Common, close to the Famous Monkey Point. It is a beautiful property overlooking the amazing view of the mountains. Price ranges from Rs.2500-3000/night

I could not get accommodation there as June happens to be a peak season. It turned out to be a huge blessing in disguise as I discovered a gem of a hotel and the price that I paid for it made it a steal.

I stayed in R. Maidens, which was stone throw distance from Ros common and 4 Kms away from Monkey Point.

I paid Rs.1600 for a big spacious 2 double bedroom, now tell me is that a steal or WAT!!!

And by the way just for the record, there was no compromise as far as the quality was concerned. Food was good and the view was majestic. Sitting by the big balcony, sipping on hot coffee and watching the never ending streak of hills was the experience that I will cherish forever.

R Maidens can be reached at The Lower Mall, Kausali

What to see and expect.

Kausali is a sleepy little town away from the hustle and bustle of their bigger cousin like Shimla. It is not yet commercialized and that probably is its biggest selling point.

Maintained by the army, since it is a cantonment area, it is spic and span very clean and silent.

Within few hours of being here, you would feel that you are totally cut-off from the rest of the world. It seems the place is still a few centuries behind.

And what can I say about the weather, it is June and I had to take a quilt in the night.
Rains come uninvited and catch you unawares, and just the way it comes, it goes away ever so subtly.

But what these little downpours leave behind is something to savor. The whole view of the green mountains change on its head. The overwhelming scenic splendor of Kasauli comes to the fore and all of the sudden the tea in your hand becomes 3 quarter tastier.

On our way back we boarded Kalka Shatabti starting at 6:AM which reached Delhi at 10:20 AM. The trip served its purpose of being a weekend getaway. I feel rejuvenated. All set to join office tomorrow.
