WOMEN (Miss)Managers

Having a clear conscience is usually a sign of bad memory!!

Yesterday I was subjected to a really long and painful session by our new wanna be TL.
And couple of interesting thoughts came to my mind, while I was somehow dragging myself there.

I have noticed that women make BAD managers. I know feminist readers would love to jump on this controversial and over judgmental statement and would love to label me a chauvinist. But I will urge to just for a second let go of the ego and instead of getting defensive, close your eyes and picture all the people you have worked under.

When I did this exercise, I realized baring Ms Kelly Fowler, all women managers I have worked under have been bookish, would follow the rules to the T. In the process of this fanatic perfection, lose the spontaneity. While this kind of nature can go well in kinder garden classes (or in our country probably even till high school), But when it comes to professional environment, you are bound to fall flat on your head.

During those 2 hours of concentration camp, I was made aware of the importance of thanking and appreciating everyone as that is very essential for cordial relationships in a team.

It was instilled in me that whenever there is a conflict between individuals, one should try and ascertain his or her personality type and resolve the issue (and mention it on the PMP report).

I was told the difference between GOOD and BAD Conscience. And how mother teresa has a blemish less record and her conscious is so clean and clear.

I mean all that is good, But once again what class am I in. I have not been subjected to this kind of moral building, spiritual enlightening all in one lecture even in my schooldays.

All I am saying is that a guy manager would not eat up 02 hours and hog the center stage and put across his meaningless crap. There is a mutual respect he would show; he would not treat you like a school kid. And isn’t that the biggest thing. Last thing you want is to be treated like an immature adolcent, when you have not done anything to deserve that.
